He has the momentum of a Mack Truck going 100 mph.

Well, holy crap, I have no idea what Sporting could have done to make the game go differently.
Maybe if he hadn't gone so hard on water and had tried to be even more aggressive he could have hurt Chaos more before he got rolling. But geeze...Highlanders + Skirms is a very difficult combo to deal with when the person using it has such a steady flow of gold. The weakness of Flaming Arrows really hurts here, too, because Skirms and Highlanders could both possibly be killed with well defended cannons, but Flaming Arrows just really lack the punch of a good Falconet.
This is a really bad matchup for Japan imo, but Chaos played it well. The funny thing is if he were a more frequent Dutch player he could have pulled it off even more cleanly and strongly. Says a lot about Dutch. But I won't try to diminish the fact that Chaos did a great job.
GG guys.

gg...I thought the rules of the tourney were that the settings had to be in classic and thus negating a trade monopoly victory. I know he resigned and you had him either way. I wish I could play like that and say I made mistakes..
If he'd have rushed harder in the beginning it would have been difficult for Chaos to win.
Maybe, Soccer, but I'm not sure how effectively Japan can rush a Dutch player, especially if Chaos had gotten CM. But it would have made things more difficult for Chaos, that's for sure.

I'm a lil surprised Sport didn't go heavy with ashi .. Yumi I think are way too weak for those highlanders..
Yumi only seem really effective IMO if they're massed or they hit and run, which didn't really seem to happen in this game, so I was a lil surprised that Sport continued to make them mostly throughout the game.
I agree with KK about the flaming arrows, they're just too weak..
even when Sport massed up about six of them they didn't last too long, if it was the same number of Falconets then more guys would have been flying through the air...
You might want to try using the card that decreases the cost of mercs next time Chaos.. I think highlanders are going to become my new friends since I'm messing around and learning Dutch atm...
Well GG fellas I'm not going to say you should have done this or that because I'm no expert myself and it's always easier to critisize when not in the hot seat..
plz, do give tips, they are always useful.
Everybody has different play styles and pays attention to different details, so in the end, all bits help.
What's that card you're talking about that makes mercs cheaper?
I had 1 shipment available in case he would rush and could also go with the fast politician. A rush would not have been good here imho.
3 Bank FF is really powerful and almost impossible to stop with a rush.

Just so you know, the mercenary loyalty card only decreases the cost of mercenary shipments. It's worthless for all civs except Germans. It doesn't affect mercs from the saloon. Otherwise, it'd be OP. (Dutch, water booming)
