I tried to but kept getting invalid file extension even though I was in the recorded games section.

ur fileden file has no file extension at all. Made a mistake at renaming the file?? Here are only files allowed which have the right extension

the format of the file name is name.age3yrec (e.g. drew_vs_spicybeef.age3yrec )

Yeah, that was the problem drew. I renamed the file ".age3yrec" and it was fine. If you copy the file in your savedgames folder and then past it onto your desktop, then change the file name you should be ok.

Go to your saved games folder, right-click the file you want, choose "copy" from the menu that pops up, close out to your desktop, right click your desktop and choose "paste" from the drop-down menu. Then just change the name of the file, not the file type.
