LMAO. Apparently, Dutch is the same as German when it comes to expressing "I have been doing ___ FOR (amount of time)." Germans say "I am here since 2 years," and I guess the Dutch do, too.
Damn prepositions! They make no sense sometimes. Why do we Anglophones say "I'm interested IN AOE3," while the Germans say "I interest myself FOR AOE3." Totally random... and Germans call you on it every time you miss the preposition

This is another good one: "I am taking care AROUND my mother" "Ich kuemmere mich UM meine Mutter."). Maybe the Dutch do something similar (cue Graaf Maurice van Oranje
