Im pretty sure it can be done, But i want another opinion. Can you install a OEM OS on a DIY rig ?
I got my Vista from a PC manufactor and i want to know for sure if i can install it on the system im building for the wife

Yes, you can. I have an OEM version I put on a new blank drive.

No problem. Although when you install, choose all the "no I don't want to register my product" type options as you go through. It makes it a whole lot easier. Then just register your product after the install.
