Re: Cyprus bank seizure
I have to say that this timing actually works for me selfishly as it is likely to cause the Euro to fall.
Don't agree with it, however.

Re: Cyprus bank seizure
cyprus is so tiny, it honestly doesnt matter and it wont cause anything to fall.
italy, france, spain and even germany are countries to look at, but not a country with 1 million inhabitants

Re: Cyprus bank seizure
tiny nation doesn't matter , its a fact that alot of money passes through those banks. besides , if this kind of event can happen once - it can and probably will happen again.
people who aren't even citizens of cyprus are being subjected to this. its indiscriminate theft.

Re: Cyprus bank seizure
This is a serious precedent and IMO a huge mistake. It's an enormous strike on the people's confidence in the banking system.

Re: Cyprus bank seizure
they even locked down all banks so that people can't withdraw their own money while they steal it...
it has to be the dumbest thing they could have done , alienating the clients of their top sources of revenue i.e. banking and financial investments.

Re: Cyprus bank seizure
The reason why banks, Cypriot and non-Cypriot alike, are very wary, to say the least, is because of this demented Fractional Reserve Banking System that the world relies upon. This and Fiat currency along with compound interest are the three financial cancers with which "they" continue to seize control over us.
This Cypriot measure is yet another clear cut example of how an idea, namely the EU, is truly built upon quick sand. If a tiny island, with a mere 1Mill inhabitants (I haven't actually confirmed this) is able to make ALL European stock exchanges plummet for two days in a row then clearly the whole economic and financial structure is built like a tower of cards.
Indeed this precedent is yet another manner in which the common folk loose hope whilst sovereignty is undermined. Yet another fish has started to bleed and the sharks have started to roam towards the NEAR east, once more.

PS great thread, yet again DHD

I am really uneducated about all of this, but it worries me that this sort of thing may hit North America in the next decade.

Hhhmmm.... 1st off HEY DREW!
2ndly lts not fforget this economic crises, wether "they" admit it or not started with Lehman brothers greed catching up to them and the subprime bubble bursting. When the US economy sneezes Europe catches a cold. This is no coincidence and is, in a nutshell, exactly what happened.
