Thanks, I've actually lately been sending 4 Coureurs as my first card because I think it's overall more efficient with a gold-heavy strategy, and if I send 8 crossbows first I fear getting housed too quickly with hussars at 2 pop each. Still, I see why crossbow/hussar would be so efficient. Perhaps I shall play with some BO's and see what I can come up with.

This is my favourite matchup when I play france.

I'll tell you what I do, this always works for me.

Age with 14 or 13 cdb's, get an early market.

Go for hussar. When you get your first 5 hussars go and raid.

Go for pure hussars no other units, the thing is that fully upgraded hussars are beasts against china, with HP and attack upgrade. When he attacks you, it only requires 6 minutemen that focuses on his pikes, you don't even have to micro your cavalry. Qiang pikes die as fast as butter melts in an active volcano, litteraly.

And if he doesn't attack, you age up and get like 20 skirms, 2 falcs and some cuirs and then you attack, then good thing is that when you age up, you get another OP cav upgrade.

Just don't be too passive with your hussars in age 2 so he can age up easely.

Ofc, you have tc fire + 6 minutemen + 8 bow shipment.
