N3O Age Of Empires and Starcraft 2 Clan

Hey I just got out of a game against russia (i'm aztec) where his deck is basicly made of only 700 / 300 resource cards and he just keeps slamming me with his mass units armies of cossacks muskets and strelets. I hold it for the first and secound time but even with two war huts and the TC he manages to beat me.

(and yes i used the 10 and 9 mace card, but he had too many units for me to counter - maces got owned by cossacks before i could get the puma card)

Can anyone gimme a hand on beating the russian rush?

keep massing coyotes and have some maces close, dance out your 10 WP's and you should beat the russian

Yeah, Chaos is right. The key to beating the Russian rush is to just mass cav or cav-like units (coyote runners). Russia's early anti-cav leaves a lot to be desired, with musketeers doing only 30 melee damage vs cav.

coyote runners are light inf, right? try to rush the russian yourself. you can be faster in age 2 and if you bring down his fb you should win this game.

Spam coyotes, as the other guys are saying, and just keep a few mace to kill his muskets. He won't stand a chance.

True. Now i figured why I lost and it all comes down to one simple word: decan.

- He could age fast
- He could make fb faster
- He could start spaming faster and harder
- I got screwed

He gave me no space or time with his full spam coz he was pumped with starting resources as I wasted my starting wood on Firepit, House and TRADING POST (bye bye 250w) T.t

Just make sure you age up with agra fort and use the 4 sowar card.

Not too sure about this. I think mass Strelets + Cossack would beat India sepoy+sowar. I think this matchup favors the Russian, imo. You have to simply out-play him, as the Russian should be able to out-eco the Indian.

You have to get the Russian fb down fast with the 12 Sepoys, then you have a good chance, though. I think more Camels than Sep's though. If you make it to fortress, your ele's should turn the tide for you..

No way the matchup favours Russia o_O As india you're faster than russia so you should just make pressure early on, that's all.

Later on ghurka/sowar/zam with camel cards should take down russia as well.

If you are certain he is going to all-out rush you (most likely he will :-P ) I would suggest getting plenty of cavalry or cav-like units, then ship in some ranged infantry. For example, when I play against Russia as the Germans, I immediately build a stable and 5 uhlans, then send my 9 xbows (with 2 extra uhlans). As everyone says, Russia's main early weakness is anti-cav, so do your best to take advantage of that. He will certainly ship in 5 + 4 cossacks, but uhlans normally beat cossacks. I keep building uhlans to stop him; if he starts building more muskets, I switch over to a wood-gathering econ and get some more xbows to help. But I always keep lots of cav on hand.

Another tip: Russia's rush requires huge amounts of food. Chances are he will sacrifice some vil production along the way. If you can knock off a few vils, he will really feel it. I used to rush with Russia on quick match and I know from experience that if the big first push fails, you are in big economic trouble.
