http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eighty_Years%27_War
The Eighty Years' War, or Dutch War of Independence, (1568–1648)[1] began as a revolt against Philip II of Spain, the overlord of the Habsburg Netherlands. The war ended with the Treaty of Westphalia. This revolt partly succeeded with the secession of seven provinces which formed the Dutch Republic.
Edit - all the more reason to root for the guys in Oranje.

Re: World Cup Discussion
Hmm that's strange:
Edit: The website isn't already there anymore - Mirror.
English: "A call to Sea Life in Germany brought the following thing: "it's clear that this picture has been edited. Paul will predict Saturday which country will win the WC". Hopefully Paul will then choose for the Dutch mussel."

I hope so
EDIT: Just watched the Dutch news. It seems like Paul has really chosen for Spain, but..
In the European Cup he predicted everything right for Germany, except for the finals, so there still is hope

Thanks Coma and Soccer.
I am too lazy to look up for it.
Seems that since Dutch won that war, Spain must be due for revenge. LOL
