Here is a strategy guide I fell upon two years ago, and I was amazed first at the level of this mans writing and afterward his true words in strategy.
Contrary to popular belief, those who play long NR50 games only fight for about 20 minutes afterward. I've played a couple and they are really fun actually, after the initial build-up.

Me too. I often have 25 food gatherers, 20 gold gatherers, 5 wood choppers and 4 forward base builders.
My starting army (its only worth playing the Dutch on Vanilla where they get a decent economy in comparison to everyone else) is 20 Imperial skirms + 30 muskets (Group 1) (20 pop + over limit), 15-20 Halbs with 10 Grenadiers and explorer (Group 2, 35-40 pop), 35 Imp Carbaneer Ruyters (Group 3, 35 pop), 15 Hussars + 5 Waardalager (Group 4, 30 pop), and either 4-5 Field Guns or 5 Howitzers (4 vils is +4 pop as well; 20-25 pop). Overall I then use 20+35-40+35+30+4+20-25 = 70-75 +50+24-29 = 120-125+24-29 = 149 pop. Then I room for a shipment if necessary.

Re: Best Dutch Strategy Guide
I always liked to keep 20-30 pop free since the Dutch eco can't actually afford that 150 pop army anyways. With that 30 free pop you can always pump some emergency units when u are suddenly low on anti cav or cannons or if you need cav because your opponent doesn't have enough anti cav.
Dunno if it's actually better than just getting the full 150 pop army but at the level I play Treaty at you can often use this extra pop space to make up for your own mistakes and punish your opponent mistakes.

You know I actually do the same with the Dutch, especially when I'm defending. I sort of make my enemy think I'm weaker than I am, and based on his miscalculations I am able to push him back 1/4 of the map in 4 minutes, and build back my walls. I use the extra 20-30 pop as an ice-breaker as to say. Quite handy in a pinch, especially when fighting France.
