wow really??? now already??
and omg didn't they say that the nice feature is that you don't need to redownload another client... when is that gonna happe? not having to downlöoad client sfrom other regions.

edit: found it
Blizzard plans to patch every game client with option to switch regions freely so if you are patient enough you might not need to download game second or third time).

Well u can also put a file called regions.xml with following content into the folder where the "Starcraft II.exe" resides. (english users will have followin path if they installed into standard folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II )

Code: Select all

<regions>
	<region displayname="AUTHENTICATION_SG_REGION" hostname="sg"
		allowedProductLocales="all" localesThatDefaultToThisRegion="enSG"/>
	<region displayname="AUTHENTICATION_US_REGION" hostname="us"
		allowedProductLocales="all" localesThatDefaultToThisRegion="enUS"/>
	<region displayname="AUTHENTICATION_EU_REGION" hostname="eu"
		allowedProductLocales="all" localesThatDefaultToThisRegion="enGB"/>
	<region displayname="AUTHENTICATION_KR_REGION" hostname="kr"
		allowedProductLocales="all" localesThatDefaultToThisRegion="koKR"/>
</regions>
That unlocks the region switch in the client.

And if the region button is not there, then u have "remember account" enabled, u must then press the arrow up button right next to the username box

Well u have to make an EU account before we can add you on EU.

BTW skip the practice or novice league. It does not get u anywhere cause of normal speed instead of fastest and crappy maps which aren't in the mappool anymore. Maps are way bigger now

ANd if the region button is not there, then u have remember account enabled, u must then press the arrow up button right next to the username box

Apparently why the region button is not officially in, is because of people with multiple licences on one account. I have NA and EU on one account, but can only use 1 account per server instead of 2

Don't do it yet, wait till it is fullly operational.
Look here:

Global Play has not yet been released. What people are experiencing is the work that is being done behind-the-scenes in preparation for its official launch. We’ll have more information about it soon.

Keep in mind that once it is released, you'll be able to switch regions on the login screen and will NOT have to download multiple StarCraft II clients.

Feel free to refer to our Global Play blog and the FAQ.
It can be done, However I dont recomend doing it at this time.
Right now we are having issues with StarCraft II some fully licensed accounts are showing up as trial accounts and I couldnt effectly determain if I was removing a retail account or not at this time. I do not want to risk removing one of your retail accounts.

Well if u don't want that, then just download the client from another region, works as well or just use the relocalizer

One more thing to note:

FAQ Battle.Net
If you have more than one regional copy of Wings of Liberty and want to upgrade to Heart of the Swarm, you only need to upgrade one of them. The Heart of the Swarm upgrade applies to all regional versions of Wings of Liberty on your Battle.net account.
So i only have to buy HotS one time if i want to upgrade all of my licences, which i will obviously do. The CE is pre-ordered at Amazon :D

big warning.i got new information from blizzard.
You can either have several sc2 licenecs on one account or on multiple ones. as long as you are using your real name with all of them, you may have multiple ones.
but if your licences are distributed on several different bnet accounts, you can only upgrade the licences one of them.
This means that you will most liekly need to buy hots twice if you want to smurf in hots

yes, cause you got it all on one account. if you had them on seperate ones, you would be screwed, especially if you wanted to have multiple ones on the same region. but that's what global play is for i guess xD

I am sure they would cause they did it for me ;)

EDIT: ANd the reason is quite simple: They have the preference that evertything should be on one account
