Patch 1.5.0. arrived - Caution
Posted: Wed Aug 01, 2012 1:29 pm
the patch is a bit buggy, so some tips:
1) if you ran any localizers/mods etc. on your sc2 installation, expect to have some difficulties. i would remove all of them and revert to standard before patching
2) Don't join custom games via Join Game. Create your own games, else you create maps with old files (patch 1.0, roaches 1 supply etc.)
The patching process is as follows: First of all the laucnher downloads the patch for the client ( you know this stuff that pops up anytime a new patch is out)
that thing will get patched and it will restart the whole thing, getting you a new client. After that the new launcher will download the whole patch (1.5.0)
The patch is huge (1GByte) because it rearranges how files are stored for future patching processes etc.
After you've done patching, check your settings, especially graphics. they will reset to a default value depending on your hardware!
