Region Linking!!!

We're pleased to announce StarCraft II region linking, an exciting upcoming change  that will connect a number of StarCraft II communities around the world for multiplayer matchmaking and communication purposes. In conjunction with the start of Season 3, we’ll be linking the European and Russian StarCraft II communities together; North America and Latin America will also be linked together, as will Korea and Taiwan.

no, it's not EU and USA, but a it is a very nice step forward !!!!

Well IMHO they link those regions because Taiwan, Russia, and LA have quite a small member number compared to the other servers and can get problems with matchmaking.

So it is a logical step for Blizzard to do thius.

Total: 3,178,805, CN: 251,518, RU: 104,071, TW: 146,402, SEA: 134,381, EU: 864,445, KR: 519,159, NA: 1,102,053, LA: 56,776

sc2ranks doesn't have every member in their database but it shows quite good the relationship.

So instead of 8 regions we have 4-5 regions (considering SEA has access to NA server), also a step to consolidate their infrastructure.
