So I'm looking at newegg and it seems they finally have the new 2500k and 2600k processors out! But I can't seem to find a motherboard, so I guess I still have to wait for those.

But I've been looking around the net, and been trying to find out more about 2500k. Is it true the main difference between the 2500 and 2500k is just overclocking? So if I'm looking to get the 2500k over the 2500, I should look to overclock correct?

Is it simple/worth doing?

not only because of overclock ,i think people generally advise the P series. the price difference is very small so i guess it's negelctable
the p series is also more similar to previos mainboards we are used to

I've been reading about these new edition cpu's, and if you are a little daring, you can make some huge savings by purchasing a cheaper cpu and overclocking it. In the tests I have been reading, you can gain performances that are equal to a price saving of between £300 and £500. (cost equivalent of cpu producing same performance as the cheaper overclocked cpu).
I'll post some links and examples when I have a little time if you like.

Found a shared list for SB that I thought was interesting and thought I would get peoples opinions on it.

I'm not sure about the PSU or the need for two HDDs.

a good list, you could remove one HDD, since you only need one,
i would exchange the psu for a Seasonic X-Series X-560 or some equivalent corsair, and the cpu cooler for a scythe mugen 2 rev b.
a 800Watt PSU is overkill tbh. only need that for mid-low highend double gpu
550-650 max is what you should aim for

but wth?? why is the slip stream so expensive?? in germany we get the same for 7€ lol

Not bad, but there is no motherboard (perhaps because of the intel recall?), perhaps change psu, and I would be a little upset spending that on a case and then having to spend another $20 for a case fan. Freezer 7 pro is a decent cpu cooler and $15 cheaper too.

Looks and material top notch???? I would heavily disagree here. For me, looks are ok, not too impressive though. Design isn't very good IMO (but this could be argued). As for the material being top notch... seriously? It's a steel case, you call that top notch?
I think you could find a better case, just my opinion.

As for one for one of the best cases ever made, not even close I'm afraid.

haha strokey i think we agree to disagree here :-P
yes top notch as in, did you read the reviews? it is one of the coolest and most stable cases. it is in the top5 in all categories.
and i hard steel is better than aluminium on cases (except when you carry them)

Lol, yeah.. we'll just disagree. ;)

Just out of interest, I went for this case 2 years ago and really like my decision.

That is where I stand with my build right now. My only question left is what to do for a motherboard. I see Asus just came out with a whole bunch of new ones to choose from, but I'm looking through the specs and I can't really figure out what makes the board better or not.

That is the front runner atm, but I would like to know what other people think of it, and if they have a good reason the spend the extra money to upgrade, or if this will be fine.

If you can I'd suggest getting a set of speakers, they are quite cheap and the difference they make is well worth it!
