Bump. The cup is almost here. In less than 24 hours the first games will be in the books. Personally I am rooting for RSA and Uruguay tomorrow. In honor of the cup, I'm posting my last "good" memory of the US in the world cup and it's from 2002 (and no it's not THAT game, for you Portuguese guys). Having won this game is better than having any kind of fence, if you know what I mean.

For the record, we would have beat Italy in '06 had the ref not been card happy and had he not called the false off-sides on the 2nd goal we scored.

The US-England game cannot get here soon enough and it'll be over before we know it. Here's to a good sporting game on Saturday and may the US stay undefeated against England in the history of the World Cup!

Can't wait. There are a few teams looking pretty good this year, and saturday's England vs USA match should be a good one. No matter how much I hate to admit, in my opinion the USA are highly underated. They have quite a strong team and they are super fit. Anyone going up against them this year are going to have a tough time.
Having said that, I still have doubts about their technical understanding and that's what will let them down in the end.

That and a defense that's as leaky as a colander...
