Seems like an over-crowded place with too much sun and where it is far to hot in the summer.
Seems nice

I visited both new york and lisbon and for me it's the big apple all the way.
(I very much liked lisbon but I really loved new york).

I'm glad you liked it. You probably wouldn't like the cost of living, though ($2500 a month for a single-room studio in some parts of town)
Still, I will always love NY. I came here when I was an 18-year-old whipper snapper and the city helped teach me what life was all about.

Lisbon truly is a magnificent city. Ihad the pleasure of living there throughout the 6 years that I pretended to study.
Any human being should b required, by law in fact, 2 spend a decent part of their lives in a metropole. As the Uhlan spammer mentioned, the city has a way of carrying with it alot of life experience and surely helps 2 build character. This is also why I like 2 say, if uve truly seen one large city uve seen them all. The same "rules" apply 2 all of them and at the end of the day they are nothing other than large portions of man made obstacles with too many men overrunning them.
That being said Lisbon has, as do all large cities, have its uniquenesses, and is always worth a visit, throughout the year! We could, should our distingueshed guests want 2, have a field day in Lisbon throughout our S25 escapades.

The pollution has probably shortened your lifespan by 5 years.

Well if I ever go to south africa, I will be visiting cape town.
One of the most fun things to do in a city is going to it's major sports venue and soak up the athmosphere, or even better, attending a game there.
I have had the honour to be in lisbon at the old benfica stadium and to watch a sell out game against holland (the portugese team with Figo and co). The athmosphere was electric, you portugese can really chant. Our portugese friends had given us the correct colours. The beer in the stadium was really really awfull.
I've watched soccer at the bernabeu in Madrid, the great madrid team with Raul, Ronaldo, Figo, roberto carlos, makelele, at the San Siro in Milan.
In new york I would like to see a yankee Game (or the Knicks if they are still any good?).
In cape town I would like to see the saffers take on england or australia in a test match, such a beautiful cricket ground you have there Roger. Eden Gardens, the MCG, or most of all at the old Kensignton Oval in Barbados watch a rampant West Indies destroy England or Australia (will never happen again unless Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell take up fast bowling).
