Movies to watch

Post by Soccerman771 »

Ok, so I'm literally between jobs right now and I want to watch some movies. What are some movies that I may not have heard of but are very good. I enjoy almost everything except horror movies.

Laughable, but I've never seen The Big Lebowski or Pulp Fiction. Those are probably tops of this list.

Help a brotha out.

Last Man Standing - Bruce Willis : action packed boot legger movie

* Pulp Fiction is a classic , also starring Bruce Willis *

The Hunted - Benicio Del Torro , Tommy Lee Jones

3:10 to Yuma - Russel Crowe , Christian Bale ( remake of the original )

1408 - John Cusack , Samuel L. Jackson ( i know you said no horror movies , but this one is an exception! based on a short story by Stephen King of a reputedly haunted hotel room )

Last of the Mohicans is probably my favorite movie ever, and also is quite inspiring for AoE3. Some of my other favorites are The Patriot, Gladiator, and Pulp Fiction. Most of the other movies suggested here I would vouch for too, especially 3:10 to Yuma.

I agree with 99% of whats been said so far.

Soccer bro u NEED 2 c pulp fiction and the big lebowski. Both are full of sureal mastery. Tbh any movie made by Mr Tarantino or the Cohen brothers are simply OP imo. No country for old men jumps 2 mind, and most of it is filmed in the great of Texas!

Im going for a slightly diferent aproach with ur thread. Ull soon understand why.

My list:

Pappillon - dustin hoffman and steve mcqueen = WOW
Bridge over the river Kwai -always good 2 watch again
Serpico - if uve seen Scarface 1 2 many times watch this
Memento - film noir for the intelegent viewer
Trainspotting - a movie as amazing as its soundtrack
Crouching Tiger Hidden dragon - undescribable
Reservoir dogs or Jacky Brown, which ever uve seen least often
American beauty - could just as easily been called "beauty"
The thin red line - bang bang movie of great calibre
If u really have enough time in a single day u wanna do the entire LOTR non stop
Heat - no other movie ever made has a better dialogue then when they sit across each other drinking coffee at the diner at night
Shindlers list - yes uve seen it b4 but u will shed tears at the end once again and percieve life diferently 4 a few more days
A clock work orange - make sure u have lots of beer 2 go with this 1
Again if u really have the day do the whole Godfather trilogy
Fight club and right after that watch Se7en :)
THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION - the most beautiful tribute to an emotion shared only by mankind (yes this is debatable but it sounded smart at the time of writing) FRIENDSHIP
City of God and/or Passenger 174 - both are amazingly rich and true eye openers
The sting - the con movie of the century
The untouchables - Brian de Palma, need I say more
Sin city - Robert Rodriguez mixes his style with Frank Miller..... could only really become a movie u either love or hate
12 monkeys, yes Maca beat me 2 it but its simply 2 good not 2 b on my list
Das boot -The most claustrophobic film on this list
Black Cat white cat - socerman this is a must bro. emir Kustorica at his best
Delicatessen - dont know if ull like this 1 though
Battle royal - ditto
giving Kaiser his credit for mentioning Master Scorceese Id like 2 add The Departed to his list

I could go on, but if u do ull have zero time left 4 gaming so Ill end it here!

enjoy

Shawshank Redemption is one of my top ten of all time. believe it or not i grew up less then 14 miles from where it was filmed here in ohio ( old Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield ) and as impposing as that prison is in the movie , it is more then double so in real life . guided tour ftw

Well here are a few:

A Bronx Tale. A De Niro film, yep the mafia or mob are involved.
Brotherhood of the Wolf. Its 1764 in France with psychotic wolf about or is it. Does have Matrix effects.
A Knights Tale. Always a laugh
Millers Crossing. Another gangster film
La Haine. French film

or just watch Wallace and Gromit the films or go old school and watch Ghostbusters

+1

Mel gibsons, Apocalypto is a nice watch.
The last samurai, tom cruise does an amazing performance imo.
Fracture is a decent movie.
Rescue Dawn is a film about US POW's held hostage in Vietnam, not a bad watch.
and the two films i have watched recently, and enjoyed thoroughly - Hotel Rwanda and Blood Diamond
