i agree with you chris on the french natives , totally underused by most people. so many players focus on dual rax bow+pike , musket ff or just straight cav. yea if u do standard b.o.s and strats then yes : france is a rather dull civ, but if u play on their natives backed by standard units then france is very diverse and incredibly strong. seriously , if playing france alot of maps have great natives , backed by their ''bland'' infantry and extremely strong cav you have the potential to create the most complex and hardest to counter army in this game. also never forget arsenal affects natives , tech CIR and cree do 30 damage to HI with 300 hp for the cost of 1.5 crossbows !!! even crummy natives such as navajo are decent vs. their counters if teched and used wisely

Once again anyone can use natives, though few do, its just French do it a little better. Not really a huge difference from other civs.

i disagree, french natives are sooo much better than other civs native capabilites

that's why they want to make french natives weaker and natives generally stronger for everyone else.

it is right though, that out of the 22 natives only like 8 got decent units

native techs in middle to lategame are always nice though =) or if you wanna assault the water with canoes, catamarans on asian maps are not as great as the almighty canoes

If you think there aren't HUGE game imbalances on that patch than think again. Even a master sarge knows that.

Instant currs?
20 range goons?
Instant inf?
Bow riders?
Japan? Still OP (notice OP, not strong)
India? Still OP (notice OP, not strong)
Spain is bad - shipments are still overnerfed. 3 lancers? 5 rods? Come on.
Dutch is slow since they loose 160 villager seconds early to chop an extra 100 wood.
China's old han is broken amongst other things.
Otto are map dependant and just overall weak, while abus are too strong.
Hand cav can beat ranged cav.
Coyotes beat almost everything.
If some makes maces you can't even bother with HI, because 2x is just ridiculous. Meanwhile pumas are just bad versions of their Euro counterpart.
Iro can age sub 4 minutes and mass too fast.
Ports are just way to weak early game. Unless you feel like playing NR 40, aging with 13 vills and no market gives them the worst eco in the game.
Schooners allows for sick 3 dock booms while massing army.
Little pieces of wall can give you LOS for the entire map.

Been through Robot's patch notes in detail now. Key things that came out are:

Japanese - boost to shrine gather rates - woah, this is serious!
India - start change improves 10/10 agra rush (possibly)
Chinese - agree to anti cav improvements, but current disciples weren't that OP. No one wil use them now!
Sioux - they got killed real bad - ouch. Increased costs, firepit nerf, axe rider nerf ...
Aztec - they boosted warrior priests - this is mad. WP got 25% boost while some dances got 20% nerf, but if you do a dance for more WPs they keep the 25% boost. Ugh
Spain - nerfed rod and lancer shipments and shipment rates - I don't get it!
Iroquois - pot top civ. Start always allows a TP to be built and aenna, tomahawks andkanya all got a boost. Who cares about FPS, GG before you hit fortress I say ...

U read too far. This is 1.01 patch notes ;)

1.02 is only nerf to India and Japan and lower costs of TP

with japan and india slightly nerfed, i guess iro and aztec will be (t)op tier as well now. Iro rush will be everywhere again tho

Yes it will, with 200w start iro can still get a tp. Hooray for map dependency.

I hate mirror matches! I can't even stand being the 2nd guy playing a civ in a team game... unless it's double Brit :D Taunt 155 TYP GFB.
