Okay, so in treaty games, what do u guys think about the cav archer in the middle with 40 opris surrounding it trick? I hope it gets fixed eventually. Personally, I think it is taking advantage in a bug in the game that allows that. Surely this is not intended by ESO.

Forgive my treaty noobishness but what bug are you referring to exactly?

Basically, you can have opri surround a cav archer by playing with the unit formation buttons. So you have 49 opri boxed together and overlapping each other; the group is about the size of a house area wise. This is also done with Samurai and some Sioux units. I certainly don't think this was intended because you can siege 1 small portion of a wall and take it down in a few seconds, mostly because this form of abuse overcomes all pathing issues. Though...I must admit it is quite fun when you have a huge group of cannons and you catch your opponent abusing this. Or when you have a group of ronin (or other area damage units) attacking the boxed units.

Ah, I see. Stange, I've never heard of anything like that before. I'd say it is a bit cheesy.

don't play tr 40, I did it yesterday and I was completly frustrated at the end. it's just spam, it's an endless stream of units.

I've once seen like 40 dog soldiers really compressed together in a box and wow that was cheap. I didn't notice it for literally 8 seconds and he was already through my base and eco going through another.

MAN I HATED when that happened to me, me and Shoot_Bogey were having a 2v2 treaty and i noticed some opris, what i thought as only 4 goinround the back of my base so i only sent 6 or so dragoons to handle them next thing i bloody know 49 of the ******* show up tearin down my walls!

Yea, I do that trick almost every time I use the Sioux. You do it with the Sioux War chief + any other Siouxan cavalry. Also, I'm not Sure about this, but it might be possible to do this with Indian Elephants, like two Brahmin and 16 Howdah + 1 Mansabder Elephant (with 9 Urumi of Course). This would be incredibly OP against Hand Infantry without area attacks. Siouxan Guard mode (make War Chief and all cav units one group and press "alt-D" or "alt-d" (just press alt, hold it in, and press D) and your guys will go into guard mode, and once you start moving them, they will get into the tiny box. This works fantastically well when you can get into people's bases; you can torch his really important buildings easily).

for sioux i can see using this since they have the most shoddy late-game eco+no walls , they need all the help they can get and dog soldiers are not easily replaced once the majority of them die. but for russia , this can be really lame and a nightmare to fight against IMO being russia has the absolute best siege trooper in this game apart from sioux / but the fact russia has outstanding eco in late game is what makes this tactic dumb to fight against , all it takes to usually spell out GG is a single breach in a wall by oprichnics followed by 30-40 musketeer spamming forts in your base while the ops r running thru your eco - this reason actually is why i stopped attempting treaty when i begun playing online , if you think sioux/russia cav is amazing in this box formation you should see gendarmes ::/ lol
