Questions about the most lame civ in the game

Now I've been laming for a while now with this civ and it's usually worked. Yes, the civ is Portugal and I say that you can lame with them. Anyway, is there ever an instance when you shouldn't ff go for Mameluke's and kill the guys attack. Boom out of three tc's and just take the advantage, eventually kill him after like half an hour?

I wouldn't FF for Marms vs Sioux if they've gone BR ....

It means that I stopped playing rated once I reached captain because I was scared of losing so I just lame in non rated.

i accidently forgot to sett unrated yesterday.. and now hallcr has a game on elo...
btw: port colonial is truely a ***** of a civic. impossible to reach pop.
