36drew vs. Sporting_lisbon

Post by 36drew »

Map: I forget, but its a land map from TAD with 3 tp's running down the middle.
Match: Ports vs. Ports
Description: I go for a 5 hussar semi-ff + 10 dragoon semi fi, while sporting goes for the pure and gutless FI. He gets to industrial before I do and starts to go nuts with the heavy cannons. I get there at 12:57, but do so with a 45 villager eco, his eco is less, but he hits industrial at 10:58 or so. I make a gutsy move and go for culverins bigtime without scouting and don't have a tonne of early success and place my factories in retarded locations. There are some interesting battles and one person even revolutions.

Winner: Drew.

GG, maybe fun to watch too.

Notes for me in the future:
- Even though HC can take down some culvs, culvs>HC.
- Expect hussars when they're unexpectable.
- Going caças vs goons looks good on paper but they'll get eaten by HC.
- Revolting as ports is just a way of delaying by 5-10 mins the resign button.

You did well, those goons over my base were annoying and I should have sent colonial militia, would have helped me sending you back :(

In late game (Age 4 both) it's just not worth it. FI for Revolution kicks ass. As soon as the other guy has cannons and can protect them you're toast.
