The funky square characters under Language are Japanese characters which my PC doesn't display. Hopefully it worked properly. Our Japanese tester still needs to let me know.

Call me a n00b and all that (my excuse is I have been away) But why are two patches in that display pic?

Because it allows users to switch between different patches. It can support any number of fan patches. Since we will not be creating an official patch, the only way for people to change versions is to either manually backup and move files around or use a program to do it for them. That's what this program does.

So while this patch is going to be good and make the game a lot more exciting and balanced, it is going to mean even less numbers are on ESO who can play games with each other? Any chance that ESO can be persuaded to "endorse" it and have it so that it automatically updates?

I was wondering the same thing as Tom, I am sick and tired of japan and india lameness but if the fanpatch means less possible games id rather not have it.

That is why you have the patch launcher you dont only run 1 and thats it, if you cant find a game on the fan patch just switch back to the normal ES patch(Ensemble Studios TAD 1.01a) and you are able to play with the rest of ESO.
