Install "work-around"?

I've had a dual-boot set up on my PC for a while now, 1 hard drive has XP pro on, another has Vista on it.
I want to start playing AOE from my Vista OS, but the problem is I cannot find my TWC disc, which isn't a problem as I don't need it to play, but I need it to install on Vista.

I'm sure there must be a way to play it from my Vista OS using the game files stored on my XP OS. Anyone know how I can do this? Are there any folders I need to copy to my Vista OS for it to execute properly?

U will also need some registry keys i guess.

Better is to get the disk from a friend and look at ur XP install which key ur warchiefs installation has, so u use ur original key instead of that of ur friend

That would be cool, so I just burn the image to disc and use for install as normal right?

Well, I got a bit of time this morning so I'm going to try copying every single file and folder of AOE across and see what happens. I also might go into the attic (uh oh) and search through all my discs (arrrggghhhh) that are in storage.

If none of this works, I'll come back to this thread!!! lol.

i once lost a CD which eventually I found back in the CD-player... of my old PC

Copying all files might not work because of updates you ran in the past

you only need the TAD disc to run the game

There is a mod to play without a disc, but as chaos said, to play TAD I only need the TAD disc.

I couldn't be bothered to go into the attic so I went out to buy another copy of TWC today, couldn't get it but picked up AOE3 gold instead- AOE3+TWC (lol), so I now have 2 CD keys spare, 1 for AOE3 and 1 for TWC.

I don't have the link for it and I don't have it, not sure where you would find it either. It's not really a "legitimate" thing to do tbh.
