With most game I see being played saw 'No Blockade' lead me to wonder why there is not some kind of counter for this?
Off the top of my head ideas:
Smuggled Shipment: Takes x3/4/5? as long time to arrive
Escorted Shipment:
Cost a low amount of coin to hire Warships and takes x2 longer to arrive
Break Blockade:
Hire Warships to break the blockade totally, cost large amount of coin at least equal to cost of Blockade.
Blockade

Re: Blockade
I could see a counter for it, if it was an age 3 or 4 tech or achieved with naval supremacy, but since it is an age 5 tech meant to be a game ender, I dunno what the point would be.
Re: Blockade
Games where people can afford blockade they are either kicking the other players ass immensely or both players will have so much resource/of already recieved shipments to the point where it's useless..

Re: Blockade
I think at that point in the game shipments are obsolete, and blockade isn't enough of a problem to really bother countering. Your ideas are interesting, though.
Groovy.
