What 80 year war? When did it take place?

somewhere between 1500 and 1600 or something, for the freedom of Holland (+belgium though), holland was a part of the spanish kingdom or something and there came a new king who threated one religion not nice.

EDIT: Just watched the Dutch news. It seems like Paul has really chosen for Spain, but..
In the European Cup he predicted everything right for Germany, except for the finals, so there still is hope
