Speaking of Coen Brothers.....anyone see Burn After Reading? I thought it was pretty funny. My wife didn't care much for it, but I liked it.
Gosh, Brad Pitt kicked ass, that was a very very good movie. It will take some time until someone makes a comedy as good as that one, the storyline was perfect, as well as the acting.
Quantum of Solace was very good too. Imo it owns Casino Royale, Casino Royale's story was a bit sucky with all that poker stuff in the middle, the poker was cool but it wasn't helping the argument. Quantum of Solace was a bit too tough/rough for those used to the 'old' 007 movies, so it's understandable that some didn't like it.
- The day the earth stood still (Keanu Reeves): rather poor - been there, done that - scenario and mr reeves aint exactly the greatest actor imo. Some ok special effects but not one to recommend, okay for a casual night, just to relax.

How could you say that? Keanu Reeves is the greatest thespian since Sir Lawrence Olivier.
Have you ever seen Coppola's "Bram Stoker's Dracula?" Keanu tried to do a British accent in that one. As the 16-or-something gaming community likes to say: "Epic fail."
Here's the best bad Keanu line from that movie. (Imagine: Really bad British accent AND really bad acting at the same time...)
"Oh, but I have seen the man, sir. At Carfax Abbey!"
ROTFLMAO!
At least Anthony Hopkins brought some skill to that movie.
Hey! Don't talk bad about Keanu! I have a VERY famous movie quote from him in my sig. (Of course, many in the clan weren't BORN when that movie came out.....sigh)
Not to mention, he did play NEO.....we should hold a spot of honor for him around here.
Just saw Che: part 1. Very very good, dunno how it didn't figure among the oscars. Realistic, great acting by del Toro, with a good job from the director too.
Nanking
this was shocking and will haunt me for a while ...
Nanking is a 2007 documentary film about the 1937 Nanking Massacre committed by the Japanese army in the former capital city Nanjing, China. The film draws on letters and diaries from the era as well as archive footage and interviews with surviving victims and perpetrators of the massacre.

Gran Torino. With such a crappy matter, an old man in his immigrant filled neighborhood, Clint Eastwood did a great job and still made it interesting. The chinese actors were awful tho o_O
