Anyone Plan on making VOD's

Post by BashUgood »

Hi Guys...

It seems that VOD's are picking up in popularity.
They seem to be a greater way to learn to play better over watching standard replays.

If you haven't seen one, the great thing about it is you see the players exact moves, his cursor and all that he's doing, such as going to the HC screen to pick a card. etc.

There's a new forum at Age Sanctuary with hosted VOD's and there's a post that shows how to make them.

Here's the link but you need to have an account and be logged in.

Anyone plan on giving this a try ?
It does seem somewhat time consuming.

I had a look at that and thought I may give it a go at some time. Like you say, a little time consuming. Could be fun though. Would be interesting to see a Nav or drew VOD.

I watch VOD's from agesanc all the time -- they are really good to watch. I researched making VOD's but with my current PC I will not be able to meet the requirements to make one (you really need a PC on steroids and growth hormone to do it).

Now, if only they had a way to show you that the best players have 4 hands and 3 mice.

Sorry, my computer can barely handle cannon fire right now. It'd never be able to survive a VOD.

I will describe me while playing though:

Very fast clicking for 10 minutes at the beginning of each game, then shouts of rage and/or glee when my horde of pink uhlans charge his massive heap of pikemen and cannons. :D
Groovy.

I'm gonna make some VODs for own use, hopefully watching that will improve my gameplay a bit :)

So far, I was able to get it recorded with camstudio, but when I watch it (with media player) the screen flashes all the time.
Do you know what could cause this?

and I tried using FRAPS, but the free version only records the first 30 sec :/
