there are several videos on youtube which showcase it pretty well, but they don't mention something which was very useful to me: limiting frames to 30 so everything is slowed down and easier, giving you more time to react.
so i put framratecap=30 in my variables.txt (don't mess with glue, that's for the main menu and blizzard already fixed that)
once you are finsihed with lost viking, erase the line we just added to the file.
You start with 3 lives (which is actually 4), the standard weapon on level 1 and 2 bombs.
Our aim is to possess 2 drones at any given time, using the plasma weapon level 2, having as many bombs as possible and as many lives as you can get (you get one bonus life every 75k points, then 125k points and so forth)
Also remember to always press the space bar fast so that your missiles fire faster, if you have a macro keyboard, even better.
The game
the game is subdivided into 3 parts, 1st one is protoss, 2nd one zerg and the last one terran. every part has a boss in the end.
you have to play through the whole cycle 3 times, after that you need some kills in the next cycle to reach the 500,000 points for gold achievement
The first level is pretty easy, the boss is a carrier which is the easiest of al the bosses. Second level is kinda hard, as you need to dodge all the green projectiles, boss is leviathan who isn't too hard either, just time your dodgin well with his tentacles and the green projectiles. the third level is the hardest, with wraiths shooting all the time plus the terratron, where you need alot of bombs to survive.

Equipment
The reason for the 2 drones is simple: they are offence and defense in one, they fire projectiles at your foes and they shield you fro mdamage, but try to avoid that since every drone can only shield once and vanishes then, forcing you to get another drone.
We choose the plasma weapon because it is the better of the two weapons, get it twice, when you get the same weapon again, it will upgrade to level 2 being even stronger.
Always use the bomb if you would been hit otherwise, simple, the bomb is, lie the drone, a two-sided sword, it kills off every foe and missile on the screen and makes you invincible for some seconds.
once an item appears, it will change its form to the other 3 items in its lifespan. always wait till it turns out favourable to you. if you have 1 drone, 10 bombs and plasam level 2, you want the drone item to have 2 of them again.

Don't forget that an item does not need to appear as the first one, the item's origin form can be any of the 4.
many times you will find yourself locked and unable to fly to the item, in this case, use a bomb and fly to the bomb item so that you used your joker to get it and earn the points. even picking up items awards points.
if your vikings gets destroyed, your current weapon will be placed on the screen as an item, you have to get it again to be able to use it (if you have level 2 weapons then the your weapon will be available twice)
