Re: Patch 1.2.0 on Private Test Realm
...Or if it's more just a multiplayer unit?...
this is afirmative. Plenty of 4v4 have people going directly for Carriers or BC´s. Usually the playa going full pure air reaches a point when, say, hes opted for V rays and realizes he (and his whole team) havent really been attacked or are attacking, then decide 2 tech up again and go for the 3vil stuff. This is also usually a game deciding decision.
Since I have used them both plenty of times and faced then countless more I truly believe that they do NOT need buffing. BC´s are just insane. When u have 6 of them with enough energy 2 shoot out 2 yamatos each then u need 2 throw some serious amount of stuff against them in order 2 hurt them. Carriers are equally as powerful for the simple reason that by the time they are massed they also have the maternal protection of Protoss´most powerful unit. Also they dont actually take that much damage themselves since ur enemy´s units automatically target the interceptors and not the carriers itself (kinda like the broodlord really).
Really? In a RO64 match or sth?
RO32
HongUnPrime game (DQ i guess)
BTW: One time there was a mothership rush in a previous season but it failed, in another won match it was already in production, but the other ave up before
BCs were nerfed also because of powerful rushes IMO. I saw a one or two replays about BC rushing
Void Rays wil lose the speed upgrade in 1.2. I guess thats becaue of team games

Dunno about BC rushes but BCs were too good against all the ground units (especially with repair) , thats why they were nerfed.

Re: Patch 1.2.0 on Private Test Realm
http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/1306100875We would like to thank everyone for their participation thus far in the first StarCraft 2 public test. We’re in the process of temporarily taking down the PTR in order to apply changes based on your feedback and testing.
Some of the changes we’re working on implementing:
# Bunker build time reduction removed as previously noted
# Fungal Growth’s terrestrial limitation has been removed and the ability once again affects air units
# It will once again be possible to hold down a key to repeat a hotkey command

I'm kinda dissapointed about the fungal growth (re-)change because it just compeltely shuts down phoenix aggression.
Re: Patch 1.2.0 on Private Test Realm
Im really happy with the void ray change, hopefully we will stop seeing the masivly boring colosi vs colosi fights that every pvp degrades to.

Re: Patch 1.2.0 on Private Test Realm
Yeah i dont like the fungal re-change either. Fungal completely ruins ZvZ and like Knarloc said its too powerful against phoenix.
Somethign that would be cool is to make it only do the damage and not stop the air units.

Re: Patch 1.2.0 on Private Test Realm
Well ZvZ is already a bit broken. If fungal would not affect air units it is more a game about who has mutas first or most of them.
Protoss would demolish Zerg with the phoenix buffs already implemented and the fungal growth change because Phonix own mutas and the Anti-AIr units of Zerg are much slower compared to Phoenix. THe phoenix buffs already help protoss to shut down Muta harassment completely
ALso PvZ will then look like this IMO: Phoenix --> forces Z to make hydras --> P goes Colossi

Re: Patch 1.2.0 on Private Test Realm
The Z can go defensive corruptors, which also demolish colossus.
They can also go spores and queens and then tech to some other composition.
TBH I think the fungal change should slow down air units rather than completely stop them. It doesn't make sense how some fungus can immediately stop a zooming phoenix in mid air anyway.
