Extended Maintenance Downtime February 26 & 27th 2009

Post by Aaryn_GenD »

According to this post of Lethe
Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know that due to some Hardware Failures ESO1 & ESO2 will come down for a much longer than normal period of time on February 26th & 27th.

A load balancer and a firewall have been causing problems, as well as a some memory failed, so we are doing a major overhaul of the hardware to make sure you guys can keep on playing.

The approximate downtimes will be 1am to 4am February 26th CST (GMT - 6).

If it runs longer, we will likely make an update later that morning, but we wanted to give everyone a heads up and to let you know the servers aren't coming down permanently!

Thanks,

Lethe
this is great news, hopefully the overall performance will be better and the other studio can maintenance the servers from now on :-)

FTJ is something that can't be fixed with patches. It's your own fault, that has be dealt with by PortForwarding.

Yeh. That's cause the other person hasn't PortForwarded.

But, it's something that's wrong with you, not ESO. I FTJ about 20% of games.

everybody should, and be sure to override the internal ip the game should use(we have a nice guide here and on the ESO FAQ)
the people on ESO as well ESO itself has its issues, sometimes 6 people can join perfectly, finish the game, and in teh enxt game when they wanna host again, some can't join, even though 20min before everything was 10=% correct, same people, same ip, all teh same ;-)

btt, i think everybody witnessed the current lag, sometimes vanished friendslists, etc. and once, i sent two messages and they appeared on the wrong order 8O
some people actually asked me if i just unpested them.. i didn't even ever pest them to begin with >.< bugs over bugs :-(

Yeah ESO is buggy as hell recently. Messages take half an hour to reach the recipient, etc.

About port forwarding - I already know how to do it, I simply haven't had the time to do so. :)

10 minutes is a lot of time when you work 5am-2pm, and have other duties besides work.

Same here Dan I never have any connection problems with anyone on any game I play, its only AOE3. Even my xbox has no problem connecting with people.
