Very nice use of the advanced arsenal things lucario did ^^, used the health upgrades instead of attacking probaly knowing stretlets 30% ranged resist, same with cossacks having 30% ranged resist as well as stretlets having a 0.75 vs them.

I will watch; thanks for posting. Just to note, though: advanced arsenal is a must for late Russian colonial. Along with boyars, it makes strelets a force to be reckoned with (flint lock, CIR, paper cartridge, drummers= they ain't so weak anymore  )

I didnt get CIR because he didnt have too much HI that it'd be worth, and for paper cartridge, it would possibly cause overkill with the style of micro i was using.

You are right; it is very easy to go many games without using it. But in extended colonial battles--which I usually opt for--it really comes in handy because it gives nice boosts to both strels and muskets, which are the heart of your army. Of course cossacks are key, and you can boost them with an arsenal upgrade, too, along with 2 great cards (boyars and cav scouts).

I don't usually remove advanced arsenal from my Russian decks just because I can't see any better replacement for it. As long as you have 13 strels, 4+5 cossacks, an infantry training card, boyars, and 700 food/coin, you can put pretty much whatever else you want in there to round it out. I think advanced arsenal is a good choice for that. I don't usually send 700 wood as the Russians. With distributivism and a couple vils on wood, I always have enough wood for housing and strels.

You're gonna need advanced arsenal to also counter Russia's (lack of) anti-cav. Colonial Russian musketeers only do 30 damage to cav, which is measly considering their other euro and asian counterparts.

Very true, Hydrovert. Advanced arsenal/socket bayonet is the only way to get those lousy musketeers on par with other civs in colonial. Problem is that the upgrades are pretty pricy (socket bayonet is 400 wood/400 gold). That's a big expense in colonial.
