Got my new laptop last night, its a powerhouse
dell inspiron 1720
2x 2.5ghz processors
4g ram
256 graphics card
dont remeber other specs, but its more than enough for aoe

only prob with playing aoe now is i let my friend borrow vanilla and twc so i cant install tad on here until he comes home(hes about 4 hours away at skool) so ill still play on my desktop when i can, finals are today and monday then im FREEEEEE

just figured id update whats going on

Have you got the one with the nice pink casing?

Seriously though, the Go 8600M GT card in those things is pretty good, it should run a lot meatier things than AOE at a decent framerate. I even heard a rumour it can cope with Crysis, but not sure on what settings!

survived it today, im going to try out crysis, with WoW i get 125 fps at max settings,

crysis failed horribly even when i switched it to dx9...the game is a monster...a big pretty monster

Which Vista did you get? 32 bit or 64 bit? Just sayin' that 32 bit won't readily recognize your 4GB of RAM. It's one of those things that Dell doesn't tell you when you're placing your order. A friend of mine had that happen on his XPS gaming rig.

My Vista 64 machine has handled all that I've thrown at it except for The Orange Box. For some reason I can't get that to work. I get sound, but no video. Might need to re-install. AOE is amazingly beautiful. I almost can't believe it's the same game I played before.
