You can see it in action if you're using the n3o2 theme.

Was thinking of old forums (neoaoe3). I changed it.

You should change the one you put up to the one that says N3O.

edit: nvm you work faster than i type. :D

Any comments or suggestions?

Seeing it on the site it doesn't seem to blend into the gray background nicely.

I don't know...I guess I'm biased but it doesn't blend too badly for me..I'm using theme 2 with the dark gray around the banner.

In any case I think it's a marked improvement over the last.

I'll think about some other things I can do, though.

edit:

Do you think changing the color of the font / color balancing to a more blueish / gray would help make it blend?

I'll post what I mean in a minute.

Here, I made the text / color balancing a bit different, this time in a metallic blue color. We wouldn't have to use that one, it's just an example of what I can do to the colors.

I could do this for any number of colors, depending on what you think would fit the forums best.

Any other ideas / thoughts?

I think I prefer the first one better.

Can you try using this color in the text / color balancing:

I'm a little tired of photoshopping for now but I'll try that out when I'm next at it.

And I agree, the blueish one is a bit overdone in terms of blue-ness but like I said it was meant as an example.

I'll try out that color.

I think the image layout is quite nice, works really well (similar to something I was playing around with). The background doesn't really work IMO, and the text is............. well....... very basic, and looks it.

Have you thought about trying a map image as a background and blending it until it fades? You can get some nice effects by doing this, and fading it in stages would keep your images standing out nicely.

As for the font. I have some very nice fonts that you could use if you want.......

Can you create "N3O" using #590303 and then provide it for KK to put into his banner?

Well, I'm not sure what you guys expect for font. All I can say is if you want the garish 3d lettering that was on the last banner, then I don't know what to say....that's just...bleh. WordArt from MS Word doesn't belong on our site banner. That said, I agree, the lettering could perhaps use some changing.

If you can find some better fonts or whatever, let me know.

As for the map background thing, that was my original intention, but I absolutely could not find a decent map image for a background to blend in, neither could I find photoshop brushes of maps. So I think that's a dead end.
