Eurovision song contest

Post by Sporting_Lisbon »

This contest is the most ridiculous one out there and Portugal is often out of the finals. This time we got in, I'm amazed. Does anything give a damn about this? When I went to Finland they seemed to respect this like the world cup of football or something.

So who's gonna win?

Rofl Sporting Im a amazed u ended up watching it.

PS my mom and sister have watched every single festival 2gether since I can remember. Its their musical highlight of the year. Yuppppie. So if i goes on in ur home I know what u must feel. Another huge benefit of paying ur own bills is that I decide what gets watched in the comfort of my OWN home :)

I really like it.

Either over the last couple of years it's got really slick and steamlined, and the songs have improved, or I'm getting sad.

Seriously, there were quite a few songs I could imagine being in the charts - once you get over the language barrier.

For example, I know it didn't do to well but I liked the French one.

Only thing that spoilt it was the political voting :(.

Thumbs up otherwise though.

Yay!

I half liked the finnish and turkish ones, spanish was fun too. The portuguese one was half good too, comparing with the other years.

But lol, let's see yugoslavia. They were Croatia, Macedonia, Servia, Montenegro, Bosnia&Herzegovina. Let's add Armenia too cause they're close. They give lots of points to themselves due to being different countries! Montenegro is ridiculous, months ago it was Servia so there goes 12 points ._.

Same goes for old URSS countries that worship Russia.

Here i think it is more the russian miniroties in those countries. Ask the baltic countries if they worship russia......

The same is with yugoslavian countries, i guess

Also in Germany usually many points go those countries, who have here big "minorities" like Turkey for ex or even Russians

Well but when the last time Serbia won, it also would have won, if only the "old" eurovison countries were allowed to vote.

The french song is a very nice one.

There is something about the Balkan, Eastern Europe or a few years ago scandinavian countries voting for each other but that just a normal thing, they know each other so well, and what does some armenian have in common with portugal or belgium?

Secondly, here in belgium we really dont send our best song/artist to Eurovison. It's really a contest for has beens hoping to revive a career that never took off, for people making a living out of such contest (half of the participants has been in different versions of "Idols"), for 1 shot bikini babes having somebody write a song for them and goofies trying to do something funnie. In eastern europe they take this contest much more seriously sending their biggest stars.

And thirdly: WHO CARES!

It's just eurovison.

last year's song from Belgium was OMG WT_F STF U U NUB... I didn't think we could do any worse...ever... until I saw this year's group... pure disaster, people got shot for less in the good old days.

Sorry, but it is needed as we have no minimum age for our forums. I know what you mean though. ;)

Thats not like in Britain, we always send our best and brightest. We take this very seriously and turn down some big acts. I mean this year Led Zeppelin said they would reform and do a special just for the Eurovision, but our Judges said Led who? We ain't gonna be a platform for a bunch of has beens be quiet U Noobs! You ain't even ever been on pop idol! When the remaining members of the Beatles came forward and said that, with a little bit of Necromancy they can come back and do the Eurovision, the Judges said, yeah sure bigger than Jesus, but who cares? Certainly not the French I can only see 'Nil Points' if we send you. Think we'll stick with Andy Abraham, he was the runner up on X factor after all!
