New Banner

Post by KingKaramazov »

Sorry to whoever made it, but it's rather ugly.

Just wanted to put that out there.

I think its genius, an example of what great modern art is like. Simple yet with hidden depths that really make you think. :-P

I made it about 2 weeks ago. It was a test I did using some new software I have and it only took me around 2 mins. If you don't like it then that's ok.

:)

To be honest, I only just noticed it has been put there.

I like it. I thought it was really good which is why I put it up. We called for banners for a banner contest but nobody responded.

The banner is not showing up at all for me. It just shows the little X mark with the alt tag: "N3O Clan: AOE3, TWC, and TAD Clan"

I don't like this banner either. I have no problem using a different banner than the one that we had been using but my banner preference is for something generic to the time period instead of native or Asian specific.

Cyc, if you clean out your Temp files then you should be able to see it.

TBH this one looks like you took some slightly sophisticated WordArt from Microsoft Word and pasted it onto the Japanese art from TAD. :-P

I can try to put together a decent banner if you give me some ideas of what you'd like to see and maybe point me toward some concept art.

If you go to agecommunity.com and look through the downloads for all 3 games (aoe3, twc, tad), you will find fan site kits that contain artwork.

Then the goal should be to create a banner that isn't taller than 90 pixels and has a color combination that looks good with the site.

Based on which theme?

I'll start working on it tomorrow.

Something that contains imaging from AOE3 and both expansions would be ideal I think. I'll have a go when I get some time, probably over christmas, but I'm really busy at the moment so don't have time for much at all.

I find it half a good banner :)

the 'N3O' part I like, the 'clan' part is too dark and I'd rather see some nice art there (asian warriors fighting or something similar)
