Spanish rush Japs very quick taking unbuilt barax down ASAP. Japs military cards allow rush 2 b defended. Nice microing on both parts.

yea, xbow / pikes get owned by japanese age 2 with decent micro.

muskets can do okay but you need a good eco to make enough of them to outnumber the japanese player.

best thing to do against Japan is FF and protect cannons with superior units and beat them that way.

euro eco> jap eco? :X who'd do pikes vs jap anyway? Only when nagis are sighted, and hussars works better imho.

Then he did wrong ^^ Yes, but don't look forward to rods owning ashis, they get owned pretty hard.

Yea. But Lancers will do okay, at least as a meatshield while CIR skirms deal with them. And rods + lancers + dogs are more than enough to deal with naginatas.

I think it's a pretty competitive match between Japan and Spain but generally I'd side with Spain as having an advantage - just not at all in colonial.

vet rods do ok vs age II ashi's, but he had the skirms for that anyway. Rods are just a better unit then pikes for combat and for protecting your skirms vs nagis. Forcing the ashis in melee is a good thing, slows em down, shich give your skirms a way to hit n run a bit
