GOTW:36drew vs. pasi94 @ Andes

Post by 36drew »

This is why you don't give up!

No prisoners! No mercy! Fanpatch!

Dutch (36drew) vs. Pasi94!

Crazy game. I just about resigned many times, but i'm sure glad I didn't!

8 huss + 10 skirm semi-ff vs musk/huss at first... then it starts to get really interesting!

Pff. I would have had a more witty title if it was a VOD. Like "Iamrgunt dead?" or something.

Nice game, Drew. I never felt like he put you in that much danger. True, he got quite a few vils after you aged to fort, but you had 4 banks and well-guarded artillery. I also feel like he stayed in colonial against you too long and really messed up his battles.

Isn't it amazing how this game hinges upon your attention at one key instant? You can have a great army with all the counters, but if your attention is not on it at exactly the right moment, everyone dies and you lose. This esepcially holds true with artillery; if you miss your shot, you lose thousands of spent resources and your whole army can go up in smoke.

That's what happened to this guy. He had enough culverins to stop your artillery blitz, but he didn't have his attention on them until most already died to your 2 culverins and ruyters.

Having said all that, you completely out-micro-ed this guy. Brits tend to suffer against the Dutch mid-game anyway, but you really nailed him.
