Sporting vs Huggy

Post by huGGy »

I played some games vs Sporting today, which weren't bad at all. Sporting played Japan all the way while i switched between Dutch and Germans. First game was on Andes were i tried to pressure early with the 8 Pike Shipment, but when i tried to pressure i saw his stable and was too afraid of him catching my army in his base. So the game ended after two big battles.

Second game and rather short was on Sonora. I started with Hussars early and got some Vills while Sporting tried to pressure. When i realized i had no safe hunts left i tried to take the offensive, but Sporting was already waiting and had the better micro.

Third game was on Andes again and i played Germans now. I started with the 8 Xbow shipment and messed up the start a little bit. But after winning a fight for his shrines i had the upper hand.

All were ggs! Always a pleasure playing vs you! ::/

Edit: Games are all played on the Fanpatch.

Thanks for posting, guys. May I say that the recorded games section is getting pretty lively again. Let's keep it up!

Are you ready to see me noob it up 1v1 after a 6-month hiatus???

commenting on the game on andes

i watched from sportings pov and i got to say that i missed the toshogu there, i only use torii if i plan on going agressive or such, the 300w is a good card and a great alternative to kami, especially in the fanpatch on which you guys played, but i much prefer the 2 vills
i expected you to shrine more aggressively, that would give huggy a hard time.
i liked the daimyo move, with the fanpatch you can't really get those unit upgrade cards anymore because you need a versatile army, getting upgrade cards for 8 ashis or so would be nonsense

a bit of piece meal trained here and there and get the consulate up earlier imo^^ diplomatici ntrigue (300exp)+dutch bank ftw, you forgot to switch to japanese isolation later but game was over right there anyway

on huggy, you should have gone fortress sooner, dutch fortress vs age2 japan is nuts, nagis can't kill falcs especially not with some ruyters

one of the reasons i hate dutch, 80% hand cav vs ranged cav kinda sucks, makes cannons so much more effective and dutch can get cannons without setting their eco up for it through their banks :P

man this post is full of rants :o

Ah yes but Torii gates is a lot of fun, and it gets more army going through shipments. That free barracks helps getting a stable up for ashi/nagi and the samurai is great for free xp from explorer :D

The extra pop is somehwat irrelevant since you're going to spam shrines early on no matter how much pop you need.

i agree sporting , torii is really fun sometimes^^
i'm glad you didn't take it as an offence, by reviewing recorded games, i mostly say what i disliked, not just saying "wonderful!!, great game"
