Flying Crows in age IV...

Post by I__CHAOS__I »

these units auto-upgrade each age, and in age IV they have:

337 HP (and 75% RR)
285 siege dmg with area 5 (= massive)
x2 vs buildings
x0.5 vs cav
ROF 5
18 range
7 pop

it comes close to the stats from Great bombards and rockets

good or not worth it?
the range might be the biggest weakness...

They are good. Their biggest downfall is their speed. They don't pack and un-pack like bombards and it takes forever to get them from the wonder. There are better age IV cards to ship IMO.

I was wondering about Crows, too. Can you build that Wonder in Age 2 and use Crows in a colonial army? I know it takes forever for them to train, which would make their participation in a rush impossible, but can it be done?

it can be done but age II stats are poor (area dmg 3 only, 225 HP)

I've used that wonder on occasion to go to Age III but mostly to Age IV. The Argue's you get from the age up are just as golden as the Crows you get later.

In rush games I almost always go: Summer palace, Porcelain Tower, Confusian Academy, Temple of heaven or White Pagoda. If I have to go to age V, something has gone horribly wrong. If the game goes past colonial, I usually try to spend only 5-7 minutes at max in Fortress. Old Han Reforms is just too good a card to not have access to playing.

That's awesome. China's FF is still very strong though it's not OP like last patch. Have you tried the FI w/the Pagoda going to IV? I hear that Japan players don't like it...

Age 2 crows is pointless, but if a colonial battle goes on ages and you go fortress the 8 Arque are always helpful (seriously, if you're in constant fighting they can tip the tides) and crows aren't THAT slow to produce, realistically.

18 range. 1 wonder producing. No upgrade for faster production. That's all for Crows imo

China have two faster siege weapon cards, don't they?
Also, the excuse of "waste of deck space" wont really fly, as I find playing China I'm always kinda "meh" about my shipments late fortress onwards, because there aren't many "decent" upgrade cards.
