The Sohei for their hammer thing, of course, and an overall good unit. Too hard to implement into your army to base a strategy around it, however.

War elephants are ok, but nothing special. They're basically weak mahout lancers.

Rattan shields and tiger claws are decent, but not too hot till they get their unique +50% attack or hp upgrade. They're just coyote runners, except slightly inferior.

TAD civ's don't get Native consulate's :( So you have to build them wherever the Outpost is.

I like the Native's but have yet to see something equivalent capture say a Cree or Huron Outpost(s).

I still believe that stat-wise, natives are too weak to invest so much wood into early on, midgame, any tribe is ok to complement your amry.
Otto can do some good native rushes (bayou), but it aint so hot.

Don't forget, if you're playing as a European civ (maybe Iro, Az, and Sioux too -memory fails), you can build Native Embassies to create the new Asian "Natives". Something that I wish the Asian civs had.

I really don't like chakrams. They seem like grenadiers, but without the obscene siege damage. I dunno, I haven't really given them much of a chance yet.
