I miss FF a lot. It surely had to be nerfed but skirm wars, hit n run, falcs and all that stuff were a lot of fun. For example Germans. I don't like what they did to germans. German FF for skirms/mercs/falcs was very very cool. Spain FF was pretty cool as well but it was too strong. Iro FF I don't miss it that much because it was a bit too lame when vsing powerless civs like pre-patch brits.

FF vs colo wasn't that cool (it was imbalanced) but FF vs FF was nice. What's your opinion?

Not as much as I thought. It is still an option when cricumstances indicate. I kind of got tired of doing it by default.

I hate FF and I'm glad as hell it's gone. It's so boring and I hated it. Cannons lag anyway and aren't any fun.

Cannons didn't lag that much. Didn't you use to hate rushing as well? :p

Never liked FF, was boring and all anyone ever did. I'm glad its gone, it's just Drews otto FI you have to watch out for now.

P.S. Cannons are great fun, think I'm gonna play some Dutch or Brits just so I can spam em, ashi laming gets boring quick.

When I play as the Spanish I still always FF.

Despite it's nerf, I can still usually pull it off and have a decent fortress army by about 6:40.

FF should get a small boost to be viable again, without turning the game into FF wars.

I've only recently FF as Ports. I tried as Sioux recently vs Germany, but those 20 xbow and 7 uhlan raiding my base were a slight problem - I did mess it up and aged about a minute later than I should have, so not necessarily a dead strat.

Certainly on a large map where the opponent doesn't build a FB then I still think there is scope for it.

I'm glad the FF got nerfed. I was thinking about this last night and I think FF is now the way it was intended. Going to Fort is now "risky", but gives you a clear advantage in unit upgrades and access to a bigger list of units.

Every time you played vs. Iro, Dutch, Sioux, Chinese and a couple others, you could say "well, they're gonna FF"...

I dont miss the FF wars, but i do think to much games are played in colonial. Fortress has new units and techs and always playing colonial isnt everything. Or when you do hit colonial, it doenst make that big a difference anmore.

It also becomes a little more predictable. You used to need to scout his villagers to guess his strat en watch the deck. Now you just try and find the ashigaru to kill them before they kill you

A game could be fun to, trying to keep a mercenary shipment or 2 falconet shipment alive.

I miss the old days of FF. I went back to nilla yesterday to do some spanish FF's. Went 3/4 for wins I think. I almost beat silento too.
