Found it on Heavengames.com.

It allows you to mod Age of Empires II, by changing unit statistics, and which civ can research what. Quite neat if you ask me.

You can even modify the HD version and play online with others who have it. That way, you can get your irking changes into the game as you like, before you play again with ordinary folks.

Just double click it to open. You have to select empires2_x2_p1.dat, and it will open it.

You should back up of course, but if you have steam you can always just override your file by 'verifying game cache.'

With this program you could editor unit armor, unit speed, unit HP, unit cost, unit train time, where units are trained, you can even add new units into the game or duplicate an old unit, such as the Man-at-arms, and place the new version at the barracks as a weak Imperial-age Infantry. You can add unit area to Janissaries, range to archers, or even infantry or cavalry, LOS, etc.

You can change the price of techs, make them research instantly, or make wheelbarrow give +20% Gathering speed in addition to what it does, or add more arrows to towers, or castles even!

Currently HG is down, but it is a very interesting program.

In the program, unit names are abbreviated, such as: KNGHT, PALDN, HEROC; SPRMN, SWDMN, LGSWD, HTHSD, HEROI; ARCH, CARCH, ACOAR; HCANR, CONQ, UCONQ; VBRSK, UVBRSK; GBUSK, UGBUSK, BHUSK, UBHUSK; TKNT, UTKNT; LGBW, ULBW; TAXE, UTAXE; CATA, UCATA; etc.

PKMN, ISPKM, FLPKM, HLBD

Those stand for, Knight, Cavalier, Paladin (Hero Cavalry); Militia, Man-at-Arms, Long Swordsman, Two-Handed-Swordsman, Champion (Hero Infantry); Archer, Crossbow Archer, Arbalast Crossbow Archer; Hand Cannoneer, Conquistador, Elite Conquistador; Viking Berserk, Elite Viking Berserk; Barracks Huskarl, Elite Barracks Huskarl; Huskarl, Elite Huskarl; Teutonic Knight, Elite Teutonic Knight; Longbowan, Elite Longbowman; Throwing Axeman, Elite Throwing Axeman; Cataphract, Elite Cataphract, etc.

So I encourage you guys to try it out for yourself if you like.

Cheers!
