I think any new civ you play is difficult. It is only after playing them awhile do they seem easy. I used to have the hardest time with Spain always housing myself. Dutch may be easy to you guys, but I have never really played any real games with them and struggle to keep up. And the difficulty of a civ has nothing to do with their power but once an easy to perform strategy is powerful, then it gives that illusion (China disciple FF, etc.).

I also find the British easy to play but not so powerful because longbows in colonial blow and this game is mostly about light infantry. I may go back to them in the next patch since the RG hussar / longbow or hussar / musket combo will be very feasible and their army is very flexible.

That's not true. I just played a game as port on water and I found it extremely difficult to manage docks making fishing boats and 3 tcs making vills while getting an army to stop the other guy's pushing. On land brit is harder imo but water port is apocalyptic.

Well, to be fair, different things are more difficult for different types of players.

I find it a lot more difficult to pull off a successful FF with most civs than sea-booming.

But being able to boom and still have a strong army and be somewhat aggressive is really difficult.
