Their Land Eco Should Be Better, with mosque techs costing more but you get vils w/ them =) hopefully they should be able to keep up w/ eco off of water
abus are over-nerfed tbh =(
jans have been more specialised imo 1 more attack, hp nerf and 2.25 Vs cav mellee attack

Re: Next top civ?
Just read Patch Notes and the Ottos and japs are going to be good. Jan / abus early on with the cheaper founder will be a deadly rush. Depending on how the otto eco holds up that could be very very powerful. Jans will masacre cav. Schooner civs will be even better on water.
Re: Next top civ?
schooner decreases wood cost to 60 and atm it reduces to 40 so it will be weaker, but asian civs will be better on water =)
jan hussar would be a better choice and maybe a few abus mixed in later on?

Re: Next top civ?
Just an extra wood crate isnt enough to make dutch OP again imo, they were better off with 7 villies
Re: Next top civ?
it's nt about making them Op, but with 100 wood your saving approx 200 vilie seconds, so ur gna get rax/stable & bank up quicker. And especially w/ the nerfs sme civs recieve they should be balanced in 1.1

Re: Next top civ?
From every comment since Sporting's initial I think it's GREAT that you guys are ignoring China. It still amazes me that very few want to play them since the huge nerf (that was needed) that they were given about this time last year.
That being said, please don't let them be OP.... XX

Yeah Soccer China is underrated by most.
Yes Drew they will be really close but there's always the civ that will be played most on the tourneys.

jans have been more specialised imo 1 more attack, hp nerf and 2.25 Vs cav mellee attack[/quote] the funny thing is that w/ jan hp nerf a sepoy is now better then jan , considering consulate on brits or extra hp ,higher base range attack by 4-slight boost at range vs. cav, same amount of hand attack but with an extra .75 multiplier, for roughly near same cost

Sorry dude, it definately is. I thought the same vs Choco, outplayed him and it went all the way to late industrial/imperial - did the fastest/best resource boom I knew how to and end resources came out at 150k vs 115k or something - Karni Mata + being able to make vills faster/free vills with shipments.

Not lategame, early game. And I still have my doubts :O Otto lategame is an OP machine. I guess I'll have to test that.

I think China will be powerful, too. I watched a couple recs last night where Ourk just spanked Damnit using China, and this is now; imagine what it will be like in the next patch.
Good points about Otto. Boosting Jans' anticav is going to make a big difference. I always maintained that Otto was weak early against cav in much the same way as Russia because they have no pikes and their muskets only do 30 attack against cav. Although their 235 HP made up for the weak anticav, you could still outstrip the Otto econ quite easily with the Brits or the Germans. With the anticav boost, the cav option is really going to be off the table.
Also, I don't think the abus nerf is going to hurt all that much. They will still do about 40 damage to HI in colonial, which is much better than any RI in the game, including Dutch skirms. And 26 siege damage to regular RI is pretty darn strong, too. Now, with a cheaper foundry, they will find a more balanced place in the game.

Re: Next top civ?
The abus nerf is going to hurt a lot at least lategame, that's for sure. The problem isn't their damage nor their price, it's their pop space.
