U can try but i doubt that it is the problem.

Is the cooling of ur system good?
Did u check CPU's temp during working?
DO the crashes appear randomly or when the system is under heavy load?

How many weatts does ur power supply have? Which vendor?

I have got front and back fan with stock cpu fan. I went to install a program to check my CPU temp , blue screen , went to try again and blue screen. Crashes happen randomly but more when system is running a few programs like aoe3 and firefox. I got 500w psu never had a problem with it.

This is what I got from novatech http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prod ... 5764G.html

EDIT:

Not sure if that helps ?

I'd be tempted to check that the cooler is on your cpu correctly, those temps are pretty high for an idle cpu.

@joe:
Make a memtest
http://www.memtest.org/

and get the following information if it shuts down again
Example
Technical informations:
*** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x95A05CD6, 0x9C82F708, 0x00000000)
*** nvlddmkm.sys - Address 95A05CD6 base at 95A00000, DateStamp 47872aac

Does that blue screen of death say: "dumping physicall memory" since if that's the case I have that problem too occasionally.

This points to driver or hardware problems

Install the newest drivers or make a new CLEAN install, so don't make a install over the old installation

U can also analyze it more with
http://www.resplendence.com/download/wh ... dSetup.exe

Memtest
Download the ISO
http://www.memtest.org/download/4.10/me ... 10.iso.zip

Burn it on CD, put it into ur DVD drive and boot ur comp from DVD. Memtest will start automatically

Memtest gave me Pass with no errors.

With WHocrashed I found:

ntkrnlpa.exe -MEMORY_MANAGEMENT / POOL_CORRUPTION_IN_FILE_AREA / IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

hardware_ram - MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

Well the whole thing points to RAM
Here are some things u can do

- Remove the ram and install it again
- increase timings in BIOS
- decrease speed of RAM in BIOS
- Let Memtest run a longer test over night
- remove one ram stick and see if the errors still occur, if they still occure remove the one left and install the other one

Got a new number on the blue screen

*** STOP: 0x0000000A (0x000000014, 0x00000002, 0x00000000,0x828a45f1

Firefox crashed had to log out and back in and then blue screen.

I still have to using xp/vista and testing the RAM. Or should I just take it back as they said it was tested ?

Points also to RAM

It seems it wasn't really tested.
I would contct ur seller and stating ur problem that everything points to RAM/Hardware.
Memtest overnight also helps.
This fast memtest doesn't always show all errors
