In addition to my laptop I ordered a wireless router to be delivered later today. It's a Linksys WRT54G G 54Mbps Broadband Router. I know there have been some people that have had wireless router issues in association with the game. Any advice on how best to set it up so I can have seemless transition to the wireless world while playing? Thanks!

You should be able to set it up fine, but I would avoid gaming through a wireless connection where possible. If you can use a wired connection then use one. If you have to go wireless then you shoudln't have any problems as long as you set it up correctly following the instructions mentioned in the previous thread.

I plan to do the same in the future for my backup machine. Although the router I purchase must have a wired connection for the main computer, and then wireless for the backup machine.

Your going wireless for your back-up?? Are you insane?

The backup is connected to a 42" LCD HDTV. I use it to play I-tunes (around 60GB music) and sometimes movies. I would like an internet connection in there so I can kick my wife off the main computer and have her check email in there and of course internet access in the living room on the big screen is nice as well.

Ah, I see. So it's a 2nd machine for basic internet uses and media streaming. I thought you meant "back-up" as in to back-up your main machine, in which case wireless would be a crazy idea.
