Insane thread, with all posts highlighted (lots of people clicked thumgb sup apparently)
seems like the thid party lan features reached a point where it is quite stable
i remember some infos from some months ago but those were all laggy clients.

The same arguments as always and often whiny ones.

Blizzard won't make LAN support. Almost no new game (that interests me) supports LAN anymore. The only valid reason is for tournaments and before Blizzard makes LAN support, it makes a Battle.Net server for big tours

And GSL has a pretty good connection to Battle.Net because Korea has the best internet infrastructure in the world and the Battle.Net servers are also in Seoul. Even i have a ping to EU Battle.net of 14 ms. 10 years ago i had much higher pings

LAN parties are also dying (not only due the lack of LAN support), but because people in my age had to do it due to no internet, now almost nobody carries his comp&gear to another place because they are to lazy.
Commervial LAN parties died out in Germany except the Northcon and some big exceptions like DH
