Seems like SC2 got a huge step forward in asia
when it is europe morning (and asia midday/evening) i see ALOT of games, still hosted, probably the same as it is anytime in the day, there are really no "huge spikes in online graph" because the game got embraced practically everywhere, now with the start of the GSL i think over time it will be more and more popular.
and this

also helps ;-)
the more popular sc gets, the better

the gsl is an incredibly huge tournament and there are many more to come.
and if kespa is unlucky tehy have to stop teh pro leagues for brood war soon :p making room for sc2
i just want the game to be the new king of the hill (which it already is) and that means removing brood war, at one point anything needs to come to an end(i learned this the hard way)

Pretty cool IMO!

I don't think that it will be so bright as u say.
GSL doesn't happen on TV so far like Broodwar. It gets only streamed. ANd if Gretech forcefully shuts down pro-league in Korea, then they have a major problem. Because i doubt that audience will switch fast over to the other game. Just try to change many rules of American Football in the US or football rules in Germany. Or shut down the NFL or the BUndesliga and trying to make something different. The spectators will get very much angry
Sponsors will only sponsor like they do in Korea if they have the major audience. If they don't have it: No money
ANd the full embracement i doubt too. Broodwar was sold 5 Mio times in Korea and people like to play in Internet Cafes because they have often a lousy computer at home. And here the One Game-One Account policy doesn't help so much.
Korean people aren't so rich as big companies like Samsung lead us to believe. That's why Blizzard tries also this monthly fee model in Korea like in Russia
See also the whole thing from a Korean point of view

i was saying that over time, yes brood war will die and they have to adopt sc2, i doubt they will give up on something tehy loved for so long^^
i don't care about leagues or anything, just want this game to be the big thing
and if kespa is forced to quit then there is nothing those dumbasse can do
