Can SC2 be played on dialup?

Post by Palehorse »

I have satellite for big chunks of data, but stuck with dialup for anything requiring low latency. Can this game be played with dialup. I contacted Blizzard and got some sort of bot answer that said "YES", "Broadband internet connection required".

Aaryn,

3/4 of the Earths land mass has no access to wired high speed internet of any kind, and wireless broadband has only duplicated the wired coverage areas.

As of February 24, that was 93 million people in the USA without high speed access.

That is why I have a satellite dish on the roof.

The nearest high speed isp asked $110,000 to run a cable to my property, so I guess it is my own choice that I still have dialup as my only wired internet. I am doing this post over satellite.

that's cause you can't take all the 3rd world coutnries as an example ;-)
in germany for example, only parochial towns (and not all of them) have no access to broadband internet.^^
where do you live in the us? parochial/urban environment??

38.339023 North Latitude
-89.016566 West Longitude

I live 3.6 miles from the nearest town center (Greenville, Indiana) which has cable and DSL internet. According to my last query, and I am 21,000 line-feet from DSL. I was told I would be covered by an expansion planned in 2001. Guess what happened to priorities in this country 'round about that time?
