My new ride

Well finaly made a decision to get rid of my old '97 VW golf (300.000 KM and counting) and ordered a new one this weekend.
It isnt as flashy as might think a car should be but once you pass 30 and have dogs, buildings materials, a wife and maybe later some kids to get in to your car, you kinda adjust your "chevy corvette" wishes.

(My wifes blog, i cant upload pics, lol)

It as a 110 Hp TDCI engine, all the little comfort stuff you want and as an extra a splendid sony car stereo.

LOl nice family car :-P

I currently have a Renault Clio which is pretty decent and has a nice top speed as well. I spend most of my time being a taxi driver ferrying my mates around Edinburgh though as they all love it : 8O

Nice looking car. Great on gas I'll bet. What kind of gas mileage does it get?

I have an old 92 Oldsmobile Bravada. It get around 18-20 MPG highway. :(

Well its a diesel engine, and very economic so I hope to get 55/60 MPG. It should do at least 50. I do about 20.000 miles a year, so no gas guzzling muscle car for me. Top speed should about 200 km/h or 120 mph.

I can't read your language in the blog Luukje, but I will say if I had spent time learning your language instead of Japanese I'd probably be 3 times further along. I haven't learned a word of your language and I can understand more about whats written in your blog than I can reading any random japanese site.

Nice little van you're getting there. I can't wait for some good smaller displacement diesels to make it to the US so we can benefit from ridiculous gas mileage!
Honda has some impressive diesels on the horizon.
150HP and 52 MPG for 2009

It's just dutch... a little closer to english than japanese..

I would have preferred a nice japanese car (toyot or honda) because I think they have better quality than european or american.
But they didnt have a model that was to my liking (some to small and the others to expensive).

150 HP that's a lot in europe (cars tend to be a little smaller over here).

In 2006, a hail storm "totalled" my car....at least according to the insurance company, and got me out from under $13,000 in debt on a car that was only worth about 9k and needed about 1.5k in repairs. (I shall never complain about Nationwide.)

After that, I bought a 1995 Honda Accord for $3200 cash. Don't know what mileage it gets. It has an oil leak. Needs exhaust work. And the suspension is not so good. Still, the best car deal I ever made.
