Too all that say merry xmas, you blaspheme!(sp?)
Its Christmas, after all its is meant to be a celebration of our lord, Jesus christ, although Jesus X would make him sound more mysterious.

To all a merry xmas...Damnit Christmas hehe :) gotta love that I am the most unfunny person on the forums ;)

Now for the rant. As the years go on, is it me or is it true that christmas is getting more and more commercialised? Its becoming more well known for present giving and less about the real reason of the birth of Christ, and spending time with the family. Opinions are welcome.

Jesus X is for the modern generation.

Of course, being the scholars you all are, you know where the X came from, right?

X is the greek letter Chi, which is basically Ch in English, the first sound in Christ.

Or, as Wiki sez:
Christ is the English term for the Greek word ??????? (Christós), which literally means "The Anointed One."
So, to shorten Christmas, it's easy to go X-mas.

I still want to know how people know his middle initial was H.....

it's true for almost everything nowadays :(

but the "real" reason is subjective, as the origins are actually celebrating the days getting longer again, which was found in many different cultures, even before christ.

You all got it wrong. What the real reason for Christmas is so we can all have a huge feast and eat untill we explode! Turkey, roast potatoes, bacon wrapped sausages, loads of stuffing, brussel sprouts, bread sauce, tonnes of vegetables, gravy, christmas cake, christmas pudding, and then the turkey sandwiches afterwards....fantastic can't wait!

Merry Christmas all!

No, that's just you students stocking up your stomachs for the next term. How many servings of beans on toast did you eat last term adder?

Here in America, we call that day "Thanksgiving". Thanksgiving is merely the appetizer, though. With Christmas and New Year's coming up. It's good eats for the next 2 weeks, then it's back to the gym.

(I'm scared of that last part. I lost nearly 20 pounds this year, and I'm not looking forward to what I'm going to feel like after Jan 1.)

Beans on toast is for those unfortunates who don't live near a chippy! ;) Mind you all this talk about food is making me peckish, I could just go for some beans on toast about now.....
